Professor Robert Sapolsky's course in Human Behavioral Biology is divided into two periods. The first half covers the various buckets (ways of thinking) of science that apply to the topic. It begins with evolutionary biology, molecular biology, behavioral genetics, ethology, neurology and endocrinology. In the second section several topics are examined from each of these perspectives.
By analyzing the topics in this way, Professor Sapolsky is able to introduce his students to the various buckets, provide them with interesting information about those buckets and the topics covered, and give them a sense of how the nuances and viewpoints change as you look at a topic from a different perspective.
